The city has receieved bookings including China Life Insurance, Perfect China, Taiwan Life Insurance and AIA Hong Kong Insurance.

According to CEO Karen Bolinger, the 2015/2016 financial year will be a great success for the city, with incentive travel programmes bringing 9,500 delegates to the region over the next two years, generating more than £21m for the Victoria economy.

Bolinger said the convention bureau had ‘surpassed its target considerably’. She added: "We have achieved a 42% increase in incentive travel business secured on last financial year, and the year isn't even over yet."

The Perfect China incentive is set to be one of the largest the region has held, with a total of 6,000 delegates arriving for a five-day event in June 2017.

"Thanks to our ‘Team Melbourne' collaborative approach, commitment to developing the perfect itinerary and the city's ability to host a group of this size, Melbourne was chosen as the ideal location for Perfect China," explained Bolinger.
